I've tried
SlowDating, and it’s a pretty cool concept! The name might seem odd for a speed dating company, but it makes sense because they give you a bit more time to chat - 4 minutes instead of the usual 2 - 3. It doesn’t sound like a big difference, but in a fast-paced setting, it really helps.
The website itself is free to join, but you buy tickets for events. You can still browse members, photos, and other stuff without paying. From what I’ve seen, people leave positive feedback, and their success stories make the events sound fun and relaxed.
During an event, you meet about 15 - 20 people, depending on how big it is. Those 4 minutes go by quickly, but they’re enough to figure out if you’d like to meet someone again. You just tick their name on your sheet, and if they pick you too, the SlowDating team lets you know you’ve matched.
Another thing I liked is that events aren't just at pubs. They have a variety of locations and activities. Their events directory makes it easy to find something near you or for a specific date, and you can even see if there’s one happening tonight if you’re in the mood.
The site has some nice features, too. For example, they suggest members you might match with, and you can check out their profiles or even chat a bit before meeting in person.
For anyone older who doesn’t want to date 20-somethings, they have a 40+ section. It’s specifically for members closer to that age range, and they host events just for them.
If you’re looking for something fun and casual, I think SlowDating is worth checking out!
