Best FWB sites to meet friends with benefits online

After going on a few dates with men my age, I’ve realized that a long-term relationship might not be realistic for someone newly divorced at 57. I think a close, honest friendship - like friends with benefits - makes more sense.

I was married for 20 years, and I don’t want either myself or the man to get too comfortable and stop putting effort into making each other happy.

Are there any dating apps where FWB is more common than on Tinder?

I think Adult Friend Finder is one of the best sites for FWB. It has over 80 million users, including straight people, LGBTQ+ individuals, trans users, and couples - so there’s something for everyone. You can search by interests, body type, and location to find a good match. It also lets you video chat with potential matches to make sure they’re real.

Based on my experience, here are some sites I recommend:
  • WishMood is all about quick, no-strings-attached hookups. It’s easy to join and simple to use.
  • WannaHookUp is fast and straightforward. No endless swiping - just sign up and start chatting. You could find a date in minutes.
  • OneNightFriend is great for one-night stands. The site is easy to navigate and helps you find someone quickly.
  • AdultFriendFinder is a classic. It’s full of people looking to connect - kind of like a giant online party.
  • BeNaughty is fun and playful. Perfect if you’re looking for something casual and lighthearted.
  • AshleyMadison is discreet. If privacy matters to you, this is a great choice. Everything stays low-key.
I recommend registering on 2-3 sites at the same time to see which one works best for you. It gives you more chances to meet someone.

Any FWB I've had was someone I dated but didn’t see as a serious partner. That helped me avoid getting emotionally attached. So, maybe think about people like that in your own life.

There isn’t a specific app just for FWB, unless you try something like Ashley Madison, where many users are married, or even Craigslist.

From my experience, you usually don’t know if something will turn into a "friends with benefits" situation until after you’ve had sex. But on real hookup apps, I generally know what to expect before meeting because people are more open about discussing sex.

What I mean is, I can usually tell if a woman might be open to a FWB arrangement.

Like most people, I’ve used Tinder to find hookups. But since it’s not really a hookup-focused app, I often don’t know what I’m walking into. In my experience, women there are less likely to talk about sex upfront.

Most women on regular dating apps seem more interested in short-term flings than in casual sex with ongoing connection.

For FWB, my go-to app is 3FUN. It’s known for threesomes, but I’ve met all kinds of open-minded people there - some into polyamory, others just looking for something casual but consistent.

On my profile, I make it clear that I’m mainly looking for FWB, but I’m also open to seeing how things go after the first night, without putting too much pressure on it.

When chatting with someone, here’s what I usually bring up:
  • Where we are in life, and whether we can realistically meet up regularly and with mutual consent
  • Our fantasies - what we haven’t tried yet, and what we usually enjoy in bed
  • Physical attraction - do we find each other attractive enough to enjoy long foreplay and extended intimacy
Of course, like on any dating app, there are fake profiles. But they’re usually easy to spot and block.

Feeld is mainly for the ENM and kink community, but I (43F) described myself as “single and looking for something casual and consistent,” meaning I wanted an ongoing FWB relationship with one person. I wouldn’t put that on my Hinge or Bumble profiles because those apps tend to attract a lot of creepers when I mention I’m looking for a FWB.
